Pet Passions - Treat you Canine Companions
When it comes to treating your furry friend, you’ll find their pet passions well catered for in Warwickshire: pampering spas, dog-friendly hotels and pubs, à la bark menus, and togs to suit every dog.
Pampering - Shaggy to Chic
Time to transform your pet from shaggy to chic? Drop them at Barkley's Dog Grooming Salon in the retail Courtyard at Middleton Hall, Tamworth, where Tina offers everything from a seasonal trim to the full works - bathing, coat styling, nail clipping and ear cleaning. While your pooch is being pampered, browse the Courtyard shops, have a coffee in the café, or explore the beautiful historic Middleton Hall & Gardens.
Ready for Your Canine Close-Up
Warwickshire's countryside provides the perfect natural backdrop for dog photography. Pack a lead and head for the open hilltops of Burton Dassett Hills Country Park or the ancient woodland trails of Hartshill Hayes, where bluebells, buttercups and rolling Warwickshire views give you a ready-made setting for portraits that no studio could manufacture. The light on the hills in spring, with a dog mid-stride and the county spread out behind - that's the shot.
Rooms With a Woof
When you fancy a few days away, you'll be sure of a welcome at Bosworth Hall Hotel & Spa, where you can stay with up to two pets per room. There's plenty of pawtential for fun nearby - romps at Market Bosworth Country Park, a spot of snuffling in Bagworth Heath Woods, or a trot beside the Ashby Canal followed by a stop at Sutton Wharf Café Bar at Sutton Cheney, where well-behaved dogs and muddy boots are equally welcome.
A stay at the award-winning Mallory Court Hotel in Royal Leamington Spa - named Best Large Hotel in England at the VisitEngland Awards 2025 - is the stuff of doggy dreams. Dog-friendly rooms in the Manor House come with a welcome letter, dog bed and cushion, bowl, poop bags and a treat, and there are 10 acres of grounds to explore together. There’s a special menu for dogs and the hotel also provides a handy list of local walks and dog-friendly pubs.
Take your dog on a leisure break to The Charlecote Pheasant Hotel. The former farmhouse turned AA 3-star hotel has a number of dog-friendly rooms available and serves a Doggy Pit Stop Menu in the Lounge Bar. There’s Dog Beer and mains and puddings too to keep your pooch happy.
You can stroll off your indulgences just along the road at Charlecote Park (National Trust) where well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome with their owners. There’s a lovely dog-walking route around the lake and parkland that takes between 20 minutes and an hour depending on how far you venture.
Dining 'À La Bark'
Dogs are so welcome at Ettington Park Hotel at Alderminster near Stratford-upon-Avon that they have their own dedicated dog menu - available to canine residents and walkers passing through alike. Take your dog on a leisure break to the Clarion Hotel Charlecote Pheasant, where the Doggy Pit Stop menu is served in the lounge bar, with mains, treats, and doggy drinks on offer. The hotel sits directly opposite Charlecote Park, making it ideally placed for a long post-dinner walk through the National Trust's deer parkland.

Dog-friendly Carriages Café, in restored railway carriages alongside the route, makes a great refreshment stop.

Have you ever wondered how puppies are bred and prepared to train to be such marvellous guide dogs? You’ll find the answers on a tour of the National Breeding Centre for Guide Dogs, Bishop’s Tachbrook. Please note, you can’t bring pets on a tour - unless of course they are guide dogs or other current guide dog stock, in which case they will be made welcome.
